contrary to popular belief you do no have to be in shape to go to the gym that's the job of the gym. I personally do not use a gym because you can do just as much without it. However i have worked at a gym and would recommend on finding yourself a smaller gym (which usually means cheaper rates as well). smaller gyms are more personal and they staff is willing to give advice (or provide a personal trainer for a fee). Also in the smaller gyms you don't feel as self conscience about yourself like you would in a big gym like LA Fitness or 24Hr. fitness.
